A Host of Internet Snafus Stall Students’ Studies During Midterm Week

At the peak of midterm season, problems with a storage array sidelined wireless Internet access and kept students from accessing Duke Web sites Tuesday evening.

Bomb threat at UNC

Update: As of 5 a.m., UNC police decided that the bomb threat called in around 9 p.m. Sunday was not valid and issued an all-clear, according to the AlertCarolina Web site.

Site bills itself as an alternative to JuicyCampus

JuicyCampus shut down today, but another Web site claims it has emerged to fill the void. All traffic directed to JuicyCampus.com is now forwarded to The Anonyous Confession Board, which is hosted at CollegeACB.com. Arrest Made in Connection with Residential Burglaries

The Duke University Police Department arrested a man for an attempted burglary in a West Campus residence hall Saturday morning, Vice President for Student Affairs Larry Moneta wrote in an e-mail to students Saturday.

US Airways flight 1549 from New York’s LaGuardia airport crashed into the Hudson River approximately 20 minutes after taking off at 3:26 EST.
